摘要: 胶质细胞是中枢神经系统的重要组成单元, 已有研究证实胶质细胞具有维持脑功能稳态, 促进突触发育, 维持血脑屏障结构功能完整等生理功能此外, 胶质细胞参与阿尔茨海默病帕金森病等神经退行性疾病的发生与进展, 并在中枢神经系统炎症性疾病中扮演不可或缺的角色然而, 外周组织中的胶质细胞长期未被关注, 其发育分化谱系及生理功能仍有待阐明文章针对外周组织中胶质细胞的发育起源功能, 及参与病理的细胞分子机制进行深入讨论, 从而更全面地理解胶质细胞在外周组织中的功能

Abstract: Glial cells are essential components of the central nervous system. There’s growingevidence that they play crucial roles in regulating brain function, supporting synaptic growth, and ensuring the blood-brain barrier remains intact. Furthermore, they are implicated in the development and progression of neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, as well as other central nervous system-related inflammatory diseases. However, research on glial cells in peripheral organs has been under-investigated, and their developmental pathways and physiological functions remain to be elucidated. In this review, our main focus is on the origins and functions of glial cells in peripheral tissues. We also delve into the cellular and molecular processes they’re involved in when it comes to central nervous system diseases, aiming to shed more light on their role outside the brain.
