Effect of Chemokines Derived from Caner-Associated Fibroblasts on Lung Cancer

Abstract: Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related death world-wide, with a 5-year survival rate of only about 16 % . As the main host cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME), cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) play an important regulatory role in the occurrence and development of lung cancer. Chemokines derived from CAFs can activate downstream signal pathways by binding with receptors, and play roles in tumor proliferation, invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis, drug resistance, radiation resistance, immune evasion and so on. This review summarizes the latest research progress of chemokines derived from CAFs in lung cancer, discusses the potential of using them in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, and provides new targets and directions for the future diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
