Abstract: Vascular remodeling is a pivotal pathological process in numerous cardiovascular diseases. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta (PPARδ), a key member of the nuclear receptor family, not only plays a crucial role in regulating physiological processes such as energy metabolism, inflammatory responses, and oxidative stress, but also influences the vascular remodeling process by modulating various complex pathophysiological mechanisms, including the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells and extracellular matrix remodeling. In-depth exploration of the specific mechanisms by which PPARδ affects vascular remodeling can help elucidate the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases, identifying novel intervention targets, mitigating the risk of cardiovascular events, and improving patient prognosis. This article reviews the structure and function of PPARδ and its recent research on the impact and mechanisms in vascular remodeling, aiming to offer new therapeutic targets for cardiovascular diseases.
